This index represents many years of work by the staff of the Bethlehem Area Public Library.

The file provides a selective  index to articles appearing in the Bethlehem Globe-Times newspaper during the time period from 1970 through 1979.  

The scope of the indexing is limited to local events effecting residents of the city of Bethlehem, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem Township, Lower Saucon, and Hanover Township.

National events such as the sinking of the Titanic or the assasination of a president would NOT be included here, unless a local resident was involved.  

Each entry includes the date, page and column number of the original article; the headline; additional explanatory or key words and/or names of those associated with the article; and at least one subject heading.
