WWII Database

This file contains an index to the Bethlehem Globe-Times newspaper beginning in 1940.

The scope of the indexing is limited to military personnel from the Lehigh Valley area who served in World War II.

Each entry includes a digitized document from the original Globe-Times newspaper consisting of the following fields: Last name, First name, Year, Month and Day.   

Scans of the original photos are included if they were available. These scans are linked on the entries in two different file formats (PDF and JPEG2000). The PDF will be the easiest and quickest to open. The JPEG2000 files are included for printing/ archiving purposes and are of higher resolution; thus, these tend to be much larger files that may require additional software to open. 

Due to the age and condition of the original articles, some dates were illegible and were thus omitted.  For a few articles, the last numeral of the year was missing and a zero was added.  Time permitting, additional articles will be added including last names beginning with Pas through Sz.
